When the darkness creeps in
- while we lay here in silence -
we slowly realise
that this silence is violence
Regretting chances we didn't take,
due to decisions not made.
And in the darkest night
We're haunted by the ghosts
we thought by now
we left behind
Our thoughts turn into fears,
the fears become nightmares
And we get obsessed
by all the feelings we repressed
As I grew older, I learned how to deal with the demons in my head. I found a way to repress them. But the more I try to repress them in my daily life, the more they leap out at me when I am asleep
They keep pushing and pushing me, right to the edge of desperation and I wake up, drenched in sweat with my body shivering to the bone. I drag myself out of these nightmares every night just to realise, that in the end there's no relief in waking up at all and my demons are still ever-present.
And in the darkest night
